CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

An integral component of the advisory component is to ensure that all students develop the skills necessary to become impactful leaders that are empowered to steward the future with integrity. The CCS cultivates identity and empowerment, promotes compassion, inspires collaborative leadership, celebrates perseverance, builds a resilient community, and fosters a passion for lifelong learning. Character education emphasizes socio-economic, racial, gender and gender identity, ethnic, religious, and national diversity, by building a community of allies in service to social and environmental justice. Advisors build and maintain a strong cooperative community culture as well as to guide character development. This approach will support opportunities for children to acquire the knowledge and understanding to thrive academically and socially, find personal health and fulfillment, and take responsibility as productive members of their community.
